RecyQ — Waste Management App
RecyQ is a major coursework project from my MSc in Digital Media Design at the University of Edinburgh. A waste management app concept designed to streamline and enrich the recycling experience for both households and businesses. The app enables users to schedule bin pickups, explore bite-sized educational content on sustainability, earn rewards for eco-conscious actions, and connect with local environmental events and initiatives.

The Brief
Design a mobile app experience that makes recycling more accessible, informative, and genuinely engaging — shifting user behaviour toward eco-conscious habits through reward mechanics and community involvement.

The Approach
Executed the complete UX design process: audience research and user interviews, competitive analysis, user stories and flows, wireframes, and a comprehensive design system. The design system features Poppins typography and a considered green palette. Culminated in an animated, high-fidelity interactive prototype with fully realised app screens.

The Outcome
Delivered a polished, fully interactive prototype demonstrating the end-to-end user journey across key features: hassle-free scheduled pickups, reward points and stores, bite-sized sustainability education, community events, and live chat support. Presented at the Edinburgh graduate show.
